20131012 Tuesday: Challenges

I've been doing more fanfic than writing original fiction lately--that's partly because I'm doing editing/maintenance on my original writing right now. Working my way through a challenge right now for an OTP. I try to do challenges for my original fiction but they never quite work out. I give up up because I could be spending that time getting words in. Any challenges that work for you?

Hmm, when I think "original fiction challenges" I think [community profile] rainbowfic, with its prompts, or Big Bangs, which I've done a couple with original fic, but maybe you're talking about something else? Those help me get my words out!

I am still stuck on Rainbowfic.

I was thinking more like character building challenges or something.

But just writing ANYTHING is helping me right now. :p

I've been treating short story submission calls as challenges. They have the same components: content specifications, word count limitations, and deadlines. I miss the instant feedback of fanfic community challenges, but them's the breaks.
